White Christmas
It was around 10:30pm that I walked with my family and C to the 11pm Christmas Eve service at my mom's church. As I was walking, I was looking at the dark snowlessness and thinking what a shame it was that it would not be a white Christmas this year -- especially when we'd had so much snow earlier in the season.

Well the service ended just after midnight, and I walked out of the church to find that there was over an inch of snow on the ground! With more coming down, in great swirling flurries! It was a white Christmas after all, and a very lovely one at that (though a cold walk home).

We did the traditional Annual Family Sprint Across Woodward both to and from church. Woodward is a street with 4 lanes in either direction, and the light we cross at lasts only a short while. If one were to walk at a normal pace, it would take two green lights to cross all the way over. This is unacceptable to my family, and we therefore break into a jog the instant the light changes. It usually turns red again just when we hit the sidewalk on the other side. We do this every year, because every year we like to walk to the Christmas Eve service at my parents' church. Traditionally we also wear nice clothing, in order for the women to freeze their legs off. I wimped out a bit this year though, because I wore a pants suit instead of a skirt. (I was still rather chilly.)
