Call me Rennie.
This is one of my favorite Calvin and Hobbes comics.

Here is the text, for those who don't like to click, or for when the comic is removed from its server. (Calvin writing his very first entry in his new journal)

Call me Calvin.

Actually, make that "Calvin, Boy Genius, Hope of Mankind."

...or "Doctor Destiny" for short.

(That's "Doctor Destiny, Sir" to you.)

My personal favorites are the Calvin & Hobbes featuring the snowmen that he builds.

Those kill me all the time.

Gosh, yes, some of those are hilarious! I love the one where one snowman's been decapitated by a car, and there are several other horrified bystander snowpeople...

uComics rules!

glad to see I'm not the only one with a need to get my daily Calvin n' Hobbes fix...

that one is indeed priceless (no one will buy it...)

I always enjoy the philosphical & existential pondering that Calvin has while wondering the woods with Hobbes...

but the ones that kill me are those classic ones ov Calvin cautiously arriving home after school only to be blasted out of his shoes by an attacking semi-domesticated tiger, the loveable alter-ego, Hobbes... those split me up every time! regardless of the decade its been since Bill Watterson stoped drawing them!
;-)

They are all such fun, aren't they? It's even on LJ syndicate, if you're interested: calnhobbes.

The ones with the monster snowmen (three heads and such) or the godzilla snowman surrounded by little itty bitty snowman always give me a chuckle.

I so wish that I was Calvin when I was growing up, and had a friend like Hobbes.

Heck, I wish I had a friend like Hobbes now!

Calvin and Hobbes is the best comic strip ever, I do believe. :)

My sister used to sign all of her correspondence with, "Julia, the Great"...Even letters to my Grandparents and such. haha. She was really into those Ramona books, but I've never read a single one. I don't even remember the author.

Oh yeah, I read a lot of those books! I always enjoyed them. Beverly Cleary was the author's name (although I admit I had to look it up).

That's really cute. She doesn't do it any longer? What a shame...

My friend Margo, in high school, always signed her letters "Annonymously, Margo". hm, she and I haven't written in a long time; I wonder if she still does.

Now it is Julia, The Great and Wise. heehee. Or sometimes just Julia Bulia because she mistakenly wrote that in Kindergarten. haha. Julia Bulia, it still makes me laugh.

Very cute. (: Did you see The Wedding Singer? Wasn't the girl's married name going to be something like that?

Julia Gulia. hahaha. I LOVE that movie. I guess because of all the 80's stuff in it, but also because there are so many funny quotes.
