I made it to California, and I am staying with SGT. He and his wife are wonderfully friendly hosts. Today we are going to see redwood trees. It is not as warm as I'd like, but I'm hopeful that it will get warmer in the afternoon!

Thank you!

Thanks for letting us know you got there safe and sound. Enjoy your trip, and when you give your speech...knock 'em dead, and don't forget to go to the bathroom BEFORE you go on...:)

ooooo! Which grove are you going to? My favorite is at Big Trees State Park. That's where the giant Sequoia were "discovered".

It was Big Basin. It was really great! I had an awesome time.

Glad to see you made it all right!

How was your flight?

Hope your bee sting is better. You are the only person I know who has been stung by an actual bee as opposed to a hornet.

Have fun on your vacation!

Thanks! The flight was pretty good actually, went fairly quickly.

I'm not certain it was a bee not a wasp or hornet. It's what I always call a "bee", but was not the fat fuzzy bumblebee-looking thing. (Of course, all I actually saw was its butt!)

Usually if they leave a barbed stinger behind they are a bee. Hence the butt on your arm.

Smooth stinger is usually not a bee.
