Vegetables are Murder
I will never eat a carrot again....poor little guys!

My subject heading reminds me of The Smiths' song, Meat is Murder.
"It's death for no reason, and death for no reason is murder"

(Which, incidentally, makes no sense. Death is often for no reason, but that's not murder. It's just life, you know? If anything, murder is a reason for death, unlike the senselessness of many deaths. Albeit a bad one. But it's The Smiths, and I have loved it for years anyway.)

Current Music: The Smiths, Meat is Murder

Well, fairly close to on time actually.

I wouldn't want to eat anything that danced and sang and cried on my dinner plate.

Yes, precisely. The poor little guy looked so sad!

Oh, heavens. I watched that before I had my coffee - I think the only reason I'm still conscious is that I don't have speakers on my PC at work.

Oh, the sound is half the fun!

That's the Smiths? I didn't recognize the tune, it must've been speeded up about 300%. Bunch of little orange barney-smoochies, murder them!

Oh no, the Smiths "Meat is Murder" just started running through my head when I typed my "vegetables are murder" subject heading. Random free-association I guess...I should make it less confusing.

Mostly those crazy dancing crying carrots just made me laugh, and I had to link to them!!

Re: Kitten

I don't know, sounds like it might be too scary of a costume.

Re: Kitten

Thought it might be appropriate since you seem to like cats.

I have no sound, but those carrots are intriguing as well as disturbing.

I have always found that Morrissey says the silliest things...for example that he is the son and heir of a shyness that is criminally vulgar. Criminally Vulgar?! *shrug* I listened to them for years as well anyway. :D

Morrissey is ful of angsty angst, but still fun to listen to!

Does Morrissey EVER have a good day? :)

Favorite Smiths-related line has to be in the movie "The Commitments". THe manager of the band is auditioning potential members of the band, but no one's exactly living up to his standards, and one man is playing a Smiths tune:

Singer: "I was happy in the haze of a drunken hour, but heaven knows I'm miserable now..."

Manager: "Yeah, I know how ya feel."

Yes, he did write "Love Song", which is passionate and beautiful. Not to mention "Friday I'm in Love".

heehee! Good movie-moment.

Morrissey wrote "Friday I'm In Love"?

Hmmm...I know that was a Cure song. Guess they had him write it for them.

Re: Morrissey wrote "Friday I'm In Love"?

Good heavens, you're right: I'm mixing up my 80's alternative bands! No, both of those songs are by the Cure. I've had a long week...obviously my brained turned off somewhere along the way!

I'm not sure Morrissey actually had any "happy" songs, though some are very very entertaining.

I was actually thinking of the (also passionate and beautiful, but not happy) song ANGEL, ANGEL, DOWN WE GO TOGETHER, and somehow it turned into Love Song in my befuddled head. Then I just kept going with Cure songs!

Ah well, love or not, at least it's friday!

Gotta love the Cure!

"Friday I'm In Love" is a terrific song. However, my favorite one has to be "Close To Me". Heck, "The Head On The Door" is just an overall great CD.

As for the Smiths, I think my favorite songs are "Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now" and "Bigmouth Strikes Again"...although "The Boy With The Thorn In His Side" is decent too...
