Women were made to be loved not to be understood. ~Oscar Wilde

This seems like a good quotation for my tombstone someday. This just about summarizes my life, I think. Except that I think it should be shortened and simply read: ...made to be loved not to be understood. Because it's all about me, you know! At least it should be darn it.

Why do I do some of the things I do? Well I certainly don't know, why should anybody else? Don't try to understand ...just love me anyway.

Isn't that the way of it with all those we love? There comes a point when you stop trying to understand their actions, and just love them for who they are.

Wasn't Oscar Wilde gay?

Yes Oscar Wilde was gay and he is also very quoteable.

One of my favorites is:

"I can resist anything but temptation."

Well, I keep trying to find one to love but they keep hiding...

Though I have the not understanding them down very well :)

I’ve grown accustomed to her face!
She almost makes the day begin.
I’ve grown accustomed to the tune
She whistles night and noon.
Her smiles. Her frowns.
Her ups, her downs,
Are second nature to me now;
Like breathing out and breathing in.
I was serenely independent and content before we met.
Surely I can always be that way again-
And yet
I’ve grown accustomed to her looks,
Accustomed to her voice;
Accustomed to her face.

--Alan Jay Lerner

Perhaps these lyrics echo Oscar Wilde's sentiments. And I think it's not just towards women but people in general. People have idiosyncracies. Other people can learn to live with them and be their friend anyway, or find them weird and send them on their way. I choose to go for the former. I can only hope I'm doing a good job at dealing with people and their hang-ups! :)

I think the mystery of you is one of the reasons I love you.
