Happy Hanukkah to all!

This made me think of katester in particular, but I bet others may enjoy it too.

Well, it's a Gefilte Fish which is commonly served for Sabbath dinner, and probably renniekins
thought it an appropriate symbol for Hannukah but I'd go for a Dreidel.

Well, it's just that the fish-on-a-car thingy is a very christian symbol, but gefilte fish is a very jewish culinary "treat" (and also really nasty according to katester, though I have not tried it, it is basically fish parts in a jelly), and I just found the contrast amusing. *shrug* And since we're in the middle of hanukkah, I made it a hanukkah post!

She's right, it tastes as bad as lutefisk, which is a big thing in the scandanavian communities in Minnesota and the UP of Michigan.

i'd rather have gefilte fish than lutefisk! and i've got BOTH going on in my goofy heritage!

that picture is brilliant! :D

I actually kinda like gefilte fish, and I normally really don't like fish. It's kinda cold and ever so slightly sweet. Although my mom eats it with horseradish.

I really need to do a Google search before I start responding to livejournal entries.

I found out what it meant, like 30 seconds after I typed in the above response.
