Happy Mothers' Day!
This goes out to all mothers reading this, including the New Mom and the Hopeful Mom on my friends list!

Well, I mean the sentiment. You don't get the actual gift. Just my mom does. (sorry!)

I'm wearing a Fathers' Day shirt in this pic. You can't actually tell. I'm wearing it because I don't have any mothers day shirts.

My kitties used to get me little mothers day presents, long ago. They've stopped now. I guess they think I have everything I need. They're probably right: I'd prefer it if they'd just make me dinner anyway, or maybe tidy up the house a bit while I'm out. Not that they do that either....

It's a lovely day, and I think I'm going to pull my hammock out of the garage. See if I can actually enjoy the outdoors a bit before I go to my mom's house soon. We're going out for Italian tonight!

I'm such a lucky girl, eh? *grin*

[sigh] Yeah.

We must lay out some afternoon. I can bring my folding chaise lounge -- it's not a hammock, but it's a comfortable recline nonetheless.

And some iced tea. Gotta have some iced tea.

And maybe some strawberries.

Sounds lovely. (:

I'll bring a pitcher of iced tea if you'll bring the strawberries.

They are only house cats? They can't go out to the shops and perhaps they don't know about on-line shopping. Maybe they will get you a dead mouse...

Yes, they can't go out, and I'll admit their pocket-cash is limited. (Due to their lack of pockets.) But cleaning up the house? Fixing the occasional meal? THAT they should be able to do, right? I don't even mind buying ingrediants and cleaning supplies, if they'd take care of the rest.

Tell those cats to GET JOBS! :) At least SOMETHING to cover the cat food costs.

I just came back from the Fox Theatre, I took my mom to the matinee of "Oklahoma!", it's the last night the show's in town. We had a blast, I'll type about it in my LiveJournal.

I agree! I've told them they should start carrying their weight around the house, but do they listen? Oh no.

Glad your mothers day went so well.

"Oklahoma!" was awesome (see LJ post). I particularly was intrigued by the portrayal of Jud Fry. THe actor who played him did it in a very intense manner.

I'm sure there are a few jobs your kitties could get. I know jobs are hard to come by, but I'm sure they could guard someone's house against mice for a few hours, or maybe even pose for cute kitty calendars.

Or...you can send their resumes and headshots to the directors of "Cats", and see if they have any potential...

Go Easy on the Kitties!

After all they have the important job of keeping you warm when you are laying on the couch, or sleeping in bed, or sitting in a chair and of course they have to supervise all household activities!

Re: Go Easy on the Kitties!

I dunno, sounds like an easy life to me. (: And they don't even keep me warm all the time, just when THEY feel like it!

Re: Go Easy on the Kitties!

Perhaps in their expert judgement you are warm enough!

Have you tried getting work as a cat?

Its not easy.

For one thing you would need more fur.
