Not Exactly a conversation
We were all piled in the car for a short ride. My nephew, two and a half, strapped into his throne in the middle, kept up a running monolog.

Trains go on tracks. Boats don't go on tracks. Cars don't go on tracks. There aren't a lot of lights here. That boat's stuck on a rock. Sometimes trains... fall in the mud. Trains have to be careful in the mud. Trains don't go up stairs.

TEA often does that, and it is cute for the first 15 minutes, and then...well...not so much;)

Yes, it certainly gets old. I used to think children had short attention spans -- but now I'm coming to understand that their ability to fixate one something, when they want to, is extraordinary!

On the other hand, it makes for great family jokes. Like my dad was driving us to the airport, and he commented, "We can just follow the "el" tracks to the airport. Just follow the train. Because it HAS to stay on the tracks."

"Yes," said my sister, "Trains have to be careful."

Certain silly phrases have gotten stuck inside my head for MONTHS! They're fun.

He has a great career ahead of him as a music hall monologist except for the fact we don't have many music halls anymore.

Stand up maybe?
