Postcards For The Cure
This morning I was checking my email before going to work. Thursday is an ice skating day, so I had to drive. I also had to pick up my sister and give her a lift this morning, because her car is in the shop. She lives about three miles away from me. I found myself thinking, "Okay, it's 8:15am. I told her I'd pick her up at 8:20. I'll just write a quick journal post, then get going. Plenty of time."

This might be why I'm often late to things.

I managed to resist writing that journal entry, but I still ended up not getting there until about 8:28. Because I still had to search the house for my phone then take out the garbage. (My phone is missing. Darn it! Hopefully it's just hiding somewhere in the house.)

Anyway the post I'd wanted to write was about the Race For The Cure. It's coming up fast: June 10th. This is a cause I have supported for six years now, and I enjoy encouraging my friends to help the cause also.

More than 40,000 women will die from breast cancer this year alone. 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. Funds raised by this event go to support local breast cancer screening, education and special treatment programs, as well as national breast cancer research.

Because this is a cause I'm passionate about, I'm offering all of you, my friends, an easy way to help out. Because I like you guys, I'm offering incentives as well. I have a new camera, and a relatively-new photo printer. I will send anybody who donates a homemade picture postcard, made to your request! Getting personal mail is fun, right?

Making a donation is quick and easy, just a credit card and a simple web form. You can do it here.

Postcard rules: I need your address, so I can mail it. Request any photo you'd like, so long as it's (1) not nigh-impossible, (2) more-or-less legal, and (3) rated PG-13 or below. I have always had a lot of fun doing photos-by-request in the past. Keep in mind that I WANT to send you a thank you of some sort, so please request something. I can stick with email if that is your preference.

Anyway, if you feel moved to donate I would definitely appreciate it. Feel free to ask questions, make suggestions, and tell me your requests/addresses in the comments of this post -- they are screened for your privacy.

To those who have donated already, make a request! Also I believe that there is person whose photo I did not complete last year. You get one, whether or not you donate this year....
