New Bed!
I went from empty nest to giant new bed today. I'm looking forward to sleeping tonight! It seems comfy, but since furniture stores don't offer sleepovers, I don't yet know for sure.

I hope my old bed has ended up in a home where it will be enjoyed and appreciated.

Yay!

Emphasis on the word GIANT!

I would almost say take it off the frame and put the box right on the floor.

It looks really comfy though, REALLY COMFEEE.....snore.

Nah, there are certain... advantages... to waist-height beds.

It does looks like it's kinda blocking access to some shelves, though.

What a difference a day makes. Thanks again for the bed Rennie. I haven't brought it inside yet though. Any suggestions on cleaning techniques to remove as much cat dander as I can..aside from the obvious tactic of hitting it with something to shake out dust?

Perhaps a vacuum cleaner? Especially if you have one with tube attachments.

That's all I can think of (:

If you have access to a steamer (of the garment/upholstery type), that would be good.

Instead of knocking it out, you could try locking it in:

it looks like you would need a ladder to get into the bed.

The first time I saw a bed that tall, it had steps leading up to it. Really.

Hmmm ... I wonder if a small platform could be made for the headboard unit.

She should put a milk crate or two under each leg of the bed. THAT would be high up!

Be careful if you sit up and read in bed! You'll fall into the 'nightstand' recess that is now BELOW your matress level.

And I am sure that would be an embarrasing rescue call to 911.
