I haven't run in two weeks. I had excuses of sorts: being out of town followed by being ill. When in Boston I got a few workouts in, but no running. The week I was sick I didn't really do anything other than rest and try to recover -- happily I succeeded in that. While the resting was a good idea, this is still not a great thing, given that I'm planning on doing the Race for the Cure 5k on saturday.

Today at lunch I got myself outside for a short run -- a little over a mile running, plus a bit of walking before and after. It was discouragingly difficult from an endurance standpoint. My stamina has really suffered in the past couple weeks.

One of the reasons I really like running is because it is so challenging for me, and it really pushes my endurance.

At least I got out there -- hopefully this will kick-start my body back into some semblance of shape. I'll be sure to go out a couple of more times this week, and that should be enough that I'll do okay on saturday!

Stop running. It's bad for your knee and you don't like it. Go riding instead!
