I Like New York in June
My sister and I are planning a trip to NYC for the end of June. I'm getting excited! I'm using frequent flyer miles to get there. I just bought tickets to a sold-out showing of Wicked off of Ebay - row E. We're going to do a mutual birthday dinner with each other on saturday before the show, take a bike tour of Central Park on sunday, have dinner with various aunts and cousins and our grandmother on sunday and monday. Monday will probably be Spend Time Wtih Grandma Day (an important holiday). Tuesday I bought myself a day pass in the Newark Worldperks lounge, and I'm planning on putting in a day's work there before flying home tuesday night. Don't know what else we'll do, perhaps some dress-shopping since I have a wedding to attend in August.... Yay! This should be a good little trip.

I like a Gershwin tune, how about you?

You'll like wicked. My Daughter just saw the touring version in Chicago last week and she thought it was "awesome" (as in the way the little kid at the end of The Incredibles says it. In fact I think he says Wicked Awesome!)

Have fun!

oh have fun!!!

two recently discovered gems that I've enjoyed:
the Neue Galerie at 5th & 86th, is just a block south of the Guggenheim (which is sadly mostly closed for renovations)
neat building and great collection of 19th Century decorative arts plus several notable artists in their collection including Gustav Klimt
http://www.neuegalerie.org/
their Café Sabarsky located inside is a wonderful transport to Vienna! yummy deserts & coffee! run by the restaurant group http://www.wallse.com/

and then there is the wonderful hidden gem: the Campbell Apartments (swanky bar) tucked away inside the SouthWest corner of Grand Central Terminal entrance is at 42nd & Vanderbilt

well there are two fun things I've recently found: one cultural/artsy one for chic drinks
enjoy your stay and a great show! (author Gregory McGuire is a UAlbany alumnus of ours!)
and don't spend too much time in the Time Square tourist traps! :-)
