I was more nervous than I usually am at these things. Our back-lunge passthru has been giving me all kinds of angst for some reason, and I messed it up last sunday. Last wednesday night we did it 3 times, and each time it was perfectly wonderful and easy...but for some reason I was still nervous about it. Well, we skated a warmup directly before the competition, and going through the passthru I bumped shoulders with another girl and we both fell. (No injuries, just some bruised knees.) *sigh* Just another blow to my confidence regarding this darn trick! The girl next to me immediately apologized and said it was her fault, that she had accidentally pulled me into the girl I'd hit. Well that was a bit of a relief, since I hadn't been sure what had gone wrong! But of course I was even more nervous for the competition runthrough.
As it turned out, my worries weren't necessary though! The pass was lined up perfectly, and we went through without a wobble or anything. It felt smooth, clean, and fast - perfect! I was quite relieved I must say. Now I just need to get it consistent enough that I stop worrying about it, so I can focus more on presenting and polishing the rest of the program properly!
