Especially since I forgot my scarf.
I managed without the scarf. The extra layers I brought along and the warm mittens were much appreciated. I didn't even pull my hat out of my suitcase. I didn't wear my long underwear. I wasn't dreadfully cold.
We skated great, and we won first place. Hooray! Now, on to the National Championships!
It was a good weekend, if unexciting. There is nothing to do in Grand Forks, ND. We went to the mall. I bought a brown stripped sweater. We ate a lot. We skated a lot. We watched even more skating. I read a fairly-interesting book.
Wait, no, I take that back: there was one extraordinary componant to the trip. The skating facility itself was amazing. It was seriously the most lavish and luxurious ice arena I've ever been in! (And believe me, I've been in a lot of ice arenas.) The floors were all granite and marble, and the seats were cherry and leather. All of them. It is brand new, and cost over $100,000,000 to build! Check this out...interior, exterior, laser show (we saw one of these for the opening ceremonies, complete with fireworks!), and rear.
On a completely unrelated note, my brother informed me last week that I am very lucky, because I have the good fortune of being The Most Perfect Baby In The World's aunt! I think he's right.
