the story of an invisible girl
Blitz Weekend
I'm ba-ack! My trip to WI was wonderful but exhausting. I left later than expected on friday at 3pm, and we drove around 7 hours. After a potluck dinner (I brought potato soup) and socializing late into the night, I got a little bit of sleep. Saturday I spent the entire day Experiencing Madison, then socialized again late into the night. Sunday morning we got up Far Too Early and drove back home so I could be at my place in time for my 5pm skating practice. Oy, that's a lot of driving in a short time! Plus, not a lot of sleep.

Aside from that though, the weekend was great. I got to meet a new friend (who is very sweet and decidedly not a dork) and her cat, and I caught up with several old friends. I had tons of delicious food. I got my hair braided and sparkled. I walked, shopped, and bought a magnet-windchime and some cheese. I read a PlayBoy. I laughed and talked a lot. I took pictures. I danced a polka.

Which articles in which issue?

Or did you only look at the pictures?

Re: PlayBoy

I dunno, I skimmed the non-boring articles, read the jokes, and looked at the pictures. I don't know who the girls were.

I hope you have pictures of the braided and sparkled thing. This I've gotta see!

Well, none of the online pics really show the sparkles properly..too small. It was glitter hairspray. Here's a closeup of the braids though - they're coming out a bit, because this was the end of the day not the beginning, but at least it gives you an idea!

Wow! Is that four strands or five? I haven't learned to do either yet.

Neat hair!

Sorry. I'm just a big braid geek.

I think it was 4 strands. It was really cool, and fun!

I can only do a basic 3-strand french braid myself, and even that's kind of hard for me.

No need to apologize, I love cool hairdos too!

Good, 'cause I'm not really sorry.

Our braided hair...

I took the rubber band out of my hair when I got home, but even after sleeping on it, it remained braided all day Sunday. I stayed home and was a slug all day, but every time I looked in the mirror, I had to admire the workmanship! It was so cool I couldn't bear to undo it!

Thought about you Sunday night, hope you weren't too wiped out for your skating practice!

Re: Our braided hair...

That's cool! I slept on it, then took it out sunday morning. My hair was nice and wavey all day (not to mention sparkley), since I didn't wet it down!

I was awake for skating, then very tired after. But that was okay, because I didn't have anything to do afterward! Just relaxed at home.

Glad you had a nice sluggy day on sunday. (:

mmm, potato soup! :)

Sounds like a fantastic time :D (except for the driving. . . I'm very anti-driving at the moment!)
