the story of an invisible girl
Back to Work
I am back at work, and none too happy about it. I tried not to get too jet-lagged last week. I never even set my watch to California time, in the hopes that would keep me somewhat near Michigan time. It didn't really work. It just meant I had to do a lot of subtraction whenever I wanted to know what time it was. Now when I look at my watch, I forget whether I'm supposed to be adding or subtracting. Then I remember it's correct again.

I'm back at work, but I'm tired and crabby. My stomach is annoyed with me, probably because I've overloaded it with too-much-caffeine and not-much-nutrition. The first day back from vacation is always rough, even though I actually arrived back in town two days ago. Getting out of bed this morning was very difficult. Forcing myself to stay in this office until quittin' time is going to be even harder.

I had a surreal moment when I walked into the office this morning. As I started to head for my desk on the far right-hand part of the back wall, I vividly remembered a dream I must have had recently, perhaps even last night. The only thing I remember clearly about the dream was that my desk at work was on the far left-hand part of the wall. (Also it was larger and sunnier.)

The flashback startled me enough that I stopped walking for a moment, confused as to where my desk actually was. (It was on the right, where it's always been. Didn't take me long to find it really.)

I had something else I wanted to mention here, but I've forgotten what it was. I suppose that goes along fairly well with the general theme of this post though.

is clearly the result of not enough creme caramel. I'm sorry you're so far away - I could fix this for you ;)

Re: this...

Darn it, you're right! These all sound like the classic signs of creme caramel deprivation! Now why didn't I realize that?

But seriously

Studies have shown its better to adjust your internal clock to the time zone and then adjust back.

I usually can do it on the plane by immediately setting my watch to my destination's time.

Also we have to get to work on getting proper nutrition for you.

Re: But seriously

I am very good about resetting my clock forward, but I always have a very hard time setting it back. I think this is because it is my natural tendancy to stay up late anyway.

I ate vegetables last night, and a banana this morning! Feeling much better-nourished. (:
