Just got done with my other extra skating practice (well okay we maybe went to the bar after but all I had was ice cream, honest!), and ooooohhhhh...am I sore! My feet especially 'cause I'm still trying to break in my new skates. The rest of me, just because I guess. Anyway, off to go soak in the tub...!

warm and happy

aaaahhh, okay, that's better. Now I'm warm and relaxed, bundled up in fleece sweats and feeling good. I can't believe it's past 2am though, it's weird skating so late. We actually only went 'til 11:30, which while late isn't insane, but the trip to the bar afterwards then the bath, now it's practically the middle of the night, heehee.... Oh well, actually just last night I was out 'til 2am, went dancing with C, which was a very good time. That's probably why I'm still up and okay tonight.

The good thing about having a Saturday night practice is that I don't have to work tomorrow! Since practice is usually on Sunday, it always means work the next day. I keep feeling like it is Sunday night, because I was skating, but it's not - Sunday is still tomorrow! Of course, the bad thing about this is that I have to skate tomorrow night again. My poor feet.

Anyway, yesterday along with going dancing, C and I went for a nice long walk, and enjoyed some lovely fall weather. It was bright and sunny, the air crisp and not too cool, until the sun started setting. Today it was significantly colder, so I'm glad I got to get out and enjoy myself before the Frost Comes, don't know how many good days we'll have left after all, certainly not weekend ones.

We also slept in delightfully late this morning. Apparently we were both pretty worn out and needed the rest; I know I was at least. It was great not to have to worry about being anywhere until 5pm today - not that I was sleeping until then, but at least I could relax and be lazy until almost that late! Enjoyed a late brunch today with C and his dad (who is staying with him), plus a nice Italian dinner with them both. And I still have leftovers, yum, no cooking required!

I was thinking: LJ should really file my latenight entries under the previous day. This one is really Saturday night, after all, not Sunday morning, and it would make my journal clearer if it were filed so. LJ should ideally follow my personal rule, which is that a new day does not begin until (1) you notice the sun has risen/is rising, or (2) you wake up, whichever occurs first. This accounts for pulling an allnighter (because the next day must begin eventually, even if you don't go to sleep), plus is accounts for those (incredibly extremely rare!) times when I wake up in the morning before the sun rises. (Obviously from the context here we can deduct that I am not a morning person.)

(also that I like using parentheses, haha, maybe at heart I'm a LISP programmer! (Really it's just that parenthetical comments are such fun to make..I don't know why more people (or is it maybe that their thoughts aren't as sporadic, don't range so far and return so disjointed, as mine do?) don't make them.))

So what with being so sore, and having slept in late, and been up late, and whatever other excuse I could bring to mind, I decided I needed a sleeping pill to help me to go to sleep tonight. I have a bad habit though, which is to stay and watch its effects for awhile, as they fascinate me. Right now, for example, in reading my own journal, the yellow letters seemed to bounce off the black background in patterns. Kind of like those mystery pictures you see, where you have to cross your eyes, and all of a sudden you see a pattern and a 3D image comes leaping off the screen! They's what my journal is doing to me. Only the pictures aren't as interesting - possibly because they are meaningless. Still pretty neat though: not often you get to see a movie/screen in 3D without those funky glasses.

On a side note, everybody should go to limewire or whatever is your favorite napster-replacement, and download "bolero" by Ravel, which is just a beautiful piece of music. I love the way it builds and swirls and gains, pressing into something greater the entire 15min length of the piece! .....and if you were ever lucky enough to see Torvill and Dean skate this in the Olympics, oh when was that, 1984??, well it was truly the most spectacular piece of athletic artistry that God has blessed us to see, so you were lucky. Oh dear, I am high and my coherence is fading. Just to clarify, as you all shoot me dirty looks through the twinax, these are legal drugs I'm on, and they'll fade soon leaving me a healthy functioning adult --- eer, at least as much as I ever am. *grin*

aaahhh, the music slammed into its chaotically stunning conclusion.....and I am going to bed. bonne nuit.

Everyone keeps telling me I need to see the movie Amelie. Well okay, not quite everyone, but it seems quite popular among those who have seen it. Maybe I'll try to see it tomorrow night.

I have to go to skating in 30 minutes, and I have done nothing today except read, eat, and mess around on my computer. This despite truly noble goals of cleaning both my bedroom and kitchen today....and some laundry would have been a great accomplishment too.....*sigh*

In a bizarre and not-fully-explicable accident, C broke the towel bar in my bathroom awhile back. It is now really just a towel nub, as the bar is missing. I have been thinking that, rather than fixing it, I will break off the nub and buy a cute little towel ring to install in that space instead.

That is about as exciting as my life is this evening, except for the following two thrilling facts: (1) although skating went well, my feet hurt, and (2) I have succeeded in picking up at least some of the clothes scattered about my bedroom. My goal is to pick up the rest before I go to sleep tonight, although I might get bored at some point and stop. (um, stop again, that is, since clearly I stopped at least once already in order to write this entry.)
