Good news / Bad news

First, the good news, because that's more important:
I'm home safely.
We skated great.
Nobody got hurt.
We won first place.
I saw some friends.
I got to enjoy lots of family time and baby time.

Now that bad news, because it's buggin' me!
It was a long and exhausting weekend.
It was a long and exhausting drive both ways.
I was really sleepy driving back, so in order to survive I got myself
really wired on ephedra and caffine, and now I can't sleep.
I got home to discover my internet and cable television down, so I
can't check my email or LJ (haven't read anything since thurs morning,
if you've written).
I discovered I left my book at the hotel this morning, so not only can
I not use the internet or watch tv or sleep, I can't read either!
(Thank goodness I have my Palm, so I can send LJ posts into the void,
even though unfortunately I didn't set it up to receive my normal
email address so I can't read anything!)
The various customer service people I called to try to fix all of this
were all idiots, of course.
I'm cold! (like always)

But it's okay...I am home, my house and cats are okay, and I brought
home a gold medal for my troubles. Tomorrow hopefully the cable guy
will come fix everything, and/or I'll get online at work and find out
how the rest of the world has been. With luck, I'll even get some
sleep before then. Hopefully.

Plus, tomorrow is Groundhog Day, my favorite holiday! Happy early
groundhog day to all, and to all a good night.
