Voice Post: We Three Kings

“We three kings of Orient are;
Bearing gifts we traverse afar,
Field and fountain, moor and mountain,
Following yonder star.

O star of wonder, star of light,
Star with royal beauty bright,
Westward leading, still proceeding,
Guide us to thy perfect light.

Born a King on Bethlehem’s plain
Gold I bring to crown Him again,
King forever, ceasing never,
Over us all to reign.

Frankincense to offer have I;
Incense owns a Deity nigh;
Prayer and praising, voices raising,
Worshipping God on high.

Myrrh is mine, its bitter perfume
Breathes a life of gathering doom;
Sorrowing, sighing, bleeding, dying,
Sealed in the stone cold tomb.

Glorious now behold Him arise;
King and God and sacrifice;
Alleluia, Alleluia,
Sounds through the earth and skies.

O star of wonder, star of light,
Star with royal beauty bright,
Westward leading, still proceeding,
Guide us to thy perfect light.”

LJ Caroling

Christmas Eve has passed, so happy Christmas to all! I have a Grand Tradition of using phone posts to share a carol, or at least a Christmasy song that I like, every December. I continued it this evening, after discussing various possibilities with my sister. I was thinking Hark the Herold, but she thought the Kings would be better. Liking both, I was okay with it.

Now I'm offering you the total of my LJ caroling efforts to date. To get the full Experience, you must listen to several. Don't worry; I have links. (:

2003 Hippopotamus Song Singing this song makes me laugh.
2004 Blue Christmas This one makes me sad/happy.
2005 RudolphThis one makes me feel happy and childlike.
2006 Jingle Bell Rock This is a fun song, acapella, though it probably would improve with some sleigh bells.
2007 We Three Kings of Orient Are A little more traditional and less silly than earlier years, but such a pretty song.

These are basically my Christmas gifts to you, to anybody who stumbles across this link and clicks a voice post or two. I hope they make you smile, and perhaps you can pass a carol on to your neighbor or friend.

Here is another gift for those whose interests do not dwell in music, my Ode to Christmas, which will hopefully make you laugh not run away screaming.

Love and joy come to you, and to you your wassail, too. And God bless you, and send you A Happy New Year..... Merry Christmas!
