Tour De Troit
Forget the Tour De France, the Tour De Troit is what all the cool cycling kids are doing! I did it with
jer_ last year, and it was really fun. We're doing it again, I'm excited about it, and we're looking for company!
Details shamelessly stolen from his post:
# When: September 20, registration from 8:30a to 9:30a (show early, or wait in line, trust me), ride starts at 10a.
# Where: Roosevelt Park (Michigan Ave & 14th St., downtown) We will be riding through some really pretty spots downtown. Last year we rode around Belle Isle, through Corktown, the Heidelberg Project and more.
# Online Reg: Closes on the 19th at 6pm, but if you register online before Sep 13th, you get a free shirt too.
# Price: Adults $25, Student Discount cost $15
# The Ride: This is seriously a great entry ride. It is 39 miles, but don't let the number scare you. The pace is a leisurely 10 or 12 miles per hour with one decent break in the middle for lunch. It is a group ride, not a race, so everyone stays together in a pack. Last year I saw children doing the ride, and all kind of bikes. It really is very laid back. This should not be a scary ride.
# Meetup: I would like to meet up around 8 or 8:15 in the park. We should be done by 2pm-ish.
