Wedding - cellophane — LiveJournal
the story of an invisible girl
I went to a wedding last night. It was nice to watch these two people, who I have seen growing happy together, tie the knot. It was a good service, too. Fairly well-paced, with a combination of traditional and unique additions.

They did something where they called the 4 elements. It reminded me of Otherworld -- no Horn of Summoning though. I still wanted to pull out my token from the Court of Mirrors, except I left it in Connecticut.

The groom is from Germany, and the bride from the US. The ceremony was largely in English, but they each had one of their parents do a reading. Her father spoke in English, with a German translation in the program. His mother spoke in German, with an English translation in the program. I found it fitting.

The ceremony and reception were in a beautiful old building. My knee was bothering me, so I hardly did any dancing. I enjoyed the reception anyway though, and didn't get home until after midnight.

Wow, this is a boring writeup. I guess I just wanted to remember the basics, and I'm too tired to make it interesting. When I got home I did some packing, then was so tired I had to get a little sleep. I just woke up about a half hour ago. I have to finish packing!! In 2.5 hours, I'm driving to the airport and leaving for Colorado. I'll be there until Halloween.

If all goes well, I'll have extra time to finish writing up my Otherworld stories (finally!), and I'll be able to post them from the road. If all goes well. For now, I really must pack.

I will, definitely! What's your favorite thing to do, and I'll do it in your honor? (Well, if I'm capable of it...I'm not teaching your classes!)

No I didn't win the cheap laptop, but a friend of mine came through at the last minute with a laptop I could borrow. So I'm sitting here in my breakfast nook, looking out at the lake, and the sun has just sunk behind the mountains across the lake. I have the best "room" ever! It was allegedly a studio, but there is a kitchen bigger than mine, a giant living area with natural fireplace, a bed area, and of course wifi, and the breakfast nook where I am now. This is a great start to the week!

Have fun in Colorodo. I hope to read about your adventures in Otherworld once you get the chance to write.

Oh the horror... please say it isn't so that karen, sometimes lives a normal boring life like the most of do most of the time?! :)

I'm reeling in shock. I'm going to go sit in the corner in denial and mutter happy thoughts.
