the story of an invisible girl
Living in a "Swing State"
I love Swing. But I mean Java Swing, yo. And, well, swing dancing is fun too.

Governor Jennifer Granholm has apparently become my Bestest Friend Forever. Seriously. She's been calling me every day now, just to chat about various issues that are important to her. Look Jen, I know it's lonely at the top, but come on. Haven't you noticed I'm not returning your calls? Can't you take a hint? We haven't even met, babe. I'm sure you're sweet and all, but this is really getting a bit creepy. Have you ever heard of stalking? I just may have to take out a restraining order on this psycho stalker chick.

Crap. All I got was a Carl Levin and a Jessie Jackson. What am I, Chopped Liver?

I am I mistaken or have I never heard you use that word before?

Maybe returning her calls would get her to stop.

Now that I only have a cellphone, they don't call me anymore. Obviously Granholm is an anti-technology candidate, unfit for the 21st Century.

I read something last week that is against a federal law for solictors to knowingly call a cellphone number.

Nope. There are some who are working on it: http://www.consumeraffairs.com/news04/cell_privacy.html
and others who are working against it: http://dsonline.computer.org/0311/d/brief.htm

I haven't gotten any political spam-calls to my cellphone... but I wonder if it would be possible to go after a politician for calling if you're on the DNC list....

They're specifically exempt.

That's crazy.

No, it's the law, along with anyone you've had a business relationship, i.e., any one who has ever sold you something, certain non profits, ...

We really should work on getting that law changed. I didn't buy any political candidates, and even if I did, they don't stay bought.

I am so glad right now that we don't have a landline.

Wow! Several calls! She only called me once and just wanted to remind me to vote democratic. But, my friends Bill Clinton, Carl Levin and Rev. Jesse Jackson also called to chat with me. I have a 'restraining order'. It's called the national do-not-call list. Oh yeah. Political solicitation is exempt. Big surprise. [NOT!]
