Ah, Springtime in Michigan

Tulips Tulips

I think the loveliest time of the year is the Spring! Don't you? Of course you do.

It is snowing all over my flowers. I'm so sad! These purple tulips were on the verge of blooming yesterday. I was just thinking sadly that I might miss their blooms while I'm on the road -- now I am thinking sadly that they may not bloom at all.
Daffodils Daffodils

Most of my daffodils are collapsed, splayed awkwardly against the ground, the snow pressing their heavy heads into the grass like a pinned wrestler. These ones are still standing only because they are poking through a fence which is supporting them.
Weeping Higan Weeping Higan

My cherry tree was looking amazing on friday, spectacularly garbed in hundreds of pink blooms! Well it's still blooming, just covered in snow now. I will admit that the white-on-light-pink is very pretty, and I took lots of pictures of my lovely tree. (Yay for a camera with a timer, so I could capture the full effect of the snow falling past my black jacket.) But still... all this snow just doesn't seem right. It's spring, darnit! Or at least it was.

I wonder if you could of put plastic bags over the flowers it would of helped by keeping the snow off....or not do any good due to it just being cold.

Poor flowers. :(

They'll be ok as soon at the snow melts. Was cold here this morning, 46 degrees, only 70 now.

I'm silently protesting by refusing to pull out my winter jacket, and trying to visualize Cancun...
