the story of an invisible girl

“I was driving along the road, and I looked at the car in front of me, and sticking out of its trunk was something orange... when i got closer, I noticed it was a tiger's tail! not a real tiger, don't worry, but a stuffed tiger. it's tail was actually sticking out of the trunk. the car in front of me was actually real cute. and it was odd because as I passed the car, there was kind of a scruffy guy who was smoking and looking old, and not like somebody who would want a stuffed tiger tail sticking out of his trunk.

and then i went a little further, and everyone in front of me was stopping. so. I slowed down, and I thought "why is everyone stopping?". then there was a few drops of rain splattering on the windshield, and so I turned the wipers on just a tiny bit. ans all of a sudden, wow! there was a lot of rain! so I turned on the wipers on further.. and all of a sudden, there I was *not even moving*, with my windshield wipers on high, and I couldn't see out of the windshield, it was that sudden of a rainstorm, and all I could think was, wow, I bet that poor tiger's tail must be soaking wet now.”

I remember you could buy tiger tails at Exxon/Imperial Oil gas stations so you could put "a tiger in your tank!"

Most of them were seen on the fuel tank cap.

This was back in the 1970's and 1960's.
