But I must do something else, right? I ride my bicycles. There, that's not work-related. I know, Silver Jr got a flat tire on tuesday! I was riding her... home from work. Oops, another work story I guess. Especially since I was riding to and from work with a couple of the guys from Cleveland. This turned out to be a good thing though, because they called one of the other guys to come rescue me.
I need to buy, and start carrying, some flat-fixing equipment if I want to continue using my bikes as much as I have been.
Here's a mildly amusing anecdote (from work (I know, I know, sorry)) that happened yesterday.
"I won't be in on time for our 9:30 standup meeting," says the manager. "Wheezy, can you cover for me?"
"Yes, I can do that."
"And if for some reason Wheezy can't make it, can you do it Juicy?"
"Well, I suppose so."
Ten minutes later or so, Wheezy realizes that he will also be late the next morning. "Okay Juicy, you will have to cover the meeting for us."
"I am sure Curly can take care of it."
"But you agreed to do it just ten minutes ago!"
"Yes, but when I agreed to do it, Wheezy was still going to be here."
"Heh," said I, "It's a lot easier to agree to things that aren't going to happen...."
