Conclave - cellophane — LiveJournal
the story of an invisible girl
This weekend I went to Conclave, a con in Lansing. I hadn't planned on going, though I'm not entirely sure why. I didn't go Friday, and Saturday morning I spent a peaceful morning reading and relaxing in bed, listening to the sound of my cat purring and the birds chirping outside. I took a quiet walk into downtown RO, had a pastry, then walked back.

But I kept thinking about the con. A few good friends continued encouraging me to join them, and after my walk I realized that there was no reason for me not to go spend an evening hanging out with the many friends I knew would be there. So I threw some things in a backpack and headed West.

It was a great 24 hours, and definitely worth it. Saw a lot of friends, had some good conversations, did a little dancing, and I even won a game of Karaoke Revolution! I'm definitely glad I was talked into going. Fun weekend....thanks all.

Peaceful mornings are a good thing. One regret I have about where I live is that I can't easily walk into any kind of urban center for coffee or goodies - this location is a little *too* suburban.

Did you go to any of the programs or just visit the dealers and artists?

This is Conclave. There isn't really a lot of programming relative to other cons in this area (I don't know how it stacks up nationally).

Gotcha. I was only looking at the linked pages which I guess give a much different sense of the event than it actually is. :)
