The director (producer? actually I don't know her job) skates with me at lunchtimes, and she's gotten it into her head that we should do an Alumni number. She mentioned this months ago, and I just kinda nodded politely and smiled. I loved the ice shows as a kid, but it'd be a time commitment.
Well, I think she decided that my nodding and smiling (and non-refusal) meant "yes". She mentioned it again to me last week, asking if I thought we could put together a number in one practice.
I was a little surprised, because I'd thought the idea had been dropped long ago. But ya know, thinking about it... I'm not sure about the timing, but if I'm available I'll do it. Why not? Performing is fun, even if it is just a goofy alumni number of some sort.
Now that I think about it though, I'm wondering if I can convince her to let me put together a little comedy routine or something. As long as I'm going to spend a whole weekend doing this thing, it'd be nice to skate twice instead of just once!
I've got a fun idea plotted out in my head now, something to do with an office cleaning lady dancing with a vacuum cleaner after hours.... or would it be funnier as a male custodian? I'm picturing Strangers in the Night, since I saw it used so delightfully at ConFusion.
I wonder if she'd like the idea? It could be fun.
