Monday Moaning

My back is ouchie today. I must have slept on it weird, or something. When I woke up this morning, it felt mis-aligned. Like where normally when I bend sideways, my back makes a nice curve. But this time I could feel it stopping 3/4 of way up, and trying to make a right angle or something to compensate. Silly back.

Fortunately F was there, and he cracked my back for me. Yay! It helped: at least now I think I'm moving properly again. But the muscles in that area are still painful. I've been stretching a lot (here at work when I catch alone-moments), which helps.

Unfortunately I got up late this morning too. Not unusual, but a bit frustrating because I've been trying to do better at getting to work on-time-ish. I slept poorly last night (possibly leading to my back hurtiness), and I was sooo tired in the morning, and F had said he'd be leaving at 8am for an appointment. So the alarm went off, and the snooze button was pressed several times. We both were trying to pretend it wasn't there.

At one point I asked what time it was, and I think it was either just before or just after 8. At another point, he actually said to me, "It's getting later." So clearly I should have realized that he had decided not to leave at 8 after all, and get up on my own. But I guess my brain was in denial, and I continued to convince myself that since he wasn't getting up, I didn't have to either.

Eventually I woke up enough to get moving, but by then it was probably 8:30? I'm supposed to be at work at 9, and I still had to swing by my house and grab my laptop. Needless to say, I didn't make it to work on time.... alas. At least I got my back cracked before I hit the road, so that helped.

In my final complaint for the day (well, for this post at least), my finger hurts. My right pinky finger. Which I realize is a fairly trivial complaint... but it's my Enter finger, my Curly Braces and Semicolon finger, and it does a lot of shifting too. So I use it rather a lot.

It hurts on the inside of the knuckle in the middle of it. It hurts to bend, and it's tender to the touch. When I compare it with my other pinky finger, I notice that the knuckle looks distinctly swollen.

I also notice that I have ridiculously tiny pinky fingers. It's a wonder I can do anything with these minuscule little child-like appendages! So I suppose I shouldn't complain now that one isn't working quite right....
