I haven't been doing the bestest job ever of promoting it, but I am definitly still participating. Probably just walking, not running, giving my natural tendency of hurting myself whenever I do, well, much of anything. *wry grin*
Helpful Tip: do not drop your treadmill on your toes, no matter how much you'd like it closer to your television. Especially when you're only planning on reading while walking on it, ya doofus! Though if you're going to, it's best to only squish the very tips of said toes, because those feel better quickly.
I put together a little goodie basket to leave out at work, to try and draw in a few more donations. The offer is still out to LJ land as well -- do you want me to send you a homemade postcard? Then toss a few dollars to my donation page. I'm looking forward to making y'all some fun postcards!
Points of Interest: This cause is particularly important to me because my mom is a breast cancer survivor. Early detection and treatment is the best way to survive this disease. More than 40,000 women will die from breast cancer this year alone. 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. Funds raised by this event go to support local breast cancer screening, education and special treatment programs, as well as national breast cancer research.
I am going in for my very first mammogram later on this month. For a base-line reading, because of my family history. That will be quite an adventure, I'm sure.... I don't really want to, but I know it's the right thing to do. So I'm going anyway.
But first, I will be Racing and Fundraising to help CURE to this darn cancer!
