the story of an invisible girl
Sleeping Fairy
At the Rennaissance Festival (which I ended up attending both saturday and sunday), I spent quite a bit of time visiting and helping out with Tomak's booth. After admiring them for so long, I decided at the end of the day to pull out my wallet and take one of the little sleeping fairies home with me.

She is now hanging on my porch post. F has named her 'Carrie'. I like having her there.

This artist makes lots of cool stuff, incidentally.

Is it just me or does the "short mushroom" look a little bit like the artist? In character, at least...

After Rennie told me about this, I took a look at the artist in the booth this Saturday. I looked at the mushroom, I looked at the artist, and then I laughed.

You're very perceptive. :)

Did you dress in costume while helping?

No, although I probably should have.... helping out wasn't actually a planned thing, it just made sense once I was there.

If I go again, I'll at least wear something "like" a costume. I don't have any actual garb, but I can at least come closer.

Since you were there for two days, you must have had a really good time!

pet food recall

Since you have lots of pet owners as friends, thought your journal might be a good way to let them know, "Toxic pet food may have killed dozens of dogs The U.S. Food and Drug Administration reports that at least 76 dogs nationwide are believed to have died as a result of eating contaminated Diamond Pet Foods."

Checked to see if it was a false alert. Urban Legends Reference says it's true:
