Bad Day

Somebody smashed my car. Fortunately I'm okay... Thank God it was the passenger side, and I had no passenger.

I know it was a Saturn, because the little logo plate was in the center of the crater. (Well that plus he stopped.)

I got a "written warning" because officially I failed to yield. But it's just a warning because traffic was such a mess then, it wasn't obvious who should go where.

Also, I have a cold. sigh

oh, man!

glad to hear you're okay!

and, with any luck, there isn't *too* much damage to the body. it looks like the door took the brunt of the hit. :)

*hug* Man, that stinks. I'm glad you're okay - that looks like it was *nasty*. I know I was a mental mess the day I had my accident - once the adrenaline wears off you feel like a limp rag. If you can take the day, I would - gives you a chance to call insurance companies, schedule things, and take a hot bath.

Where did the accident happen? It seemed like there were 5 accidents this morning, not to mention the lights were flashing at 11 and Campbell.

I highly recommend Sterling Auto Body on Stephenson Hwy. just south of 13 Mile Road. They were awesome.

Wow- that does look ugly! Glad to hear that you are ok!

Wow, that looks quite nasty. I'm shocked you didn't have an airbag go off and cause more damage! This is definitely the season for this stuff (I had a small "oops" over the weekend, luckily I was driving a rental, not my new car).

Glad you're OK, cars can always be fixed. I'd be interested in hearing how much the repair bill comes to be for this, that looks like a real doozy.
renniekins From: renniekins Date: January 14th, 2007 03:40 am (UTC) (Link)
The repair estimate was in the $8000 range. Which is about what the car is worth, so instead they just kept my car and gave me a check....

I have the full estimate if you're curious sometime though, they gave me a copy.

Sorry about your "oops", I hope it wasn't too bad!

Dammit, you too!? I swear, I and everyone I know is cashing in on some bad karma somewhere.

Glad to hear you made it out OK. Just remember, it could've been a lot worse. I hope the ensuing insurance/repair runaround isn't too much trouble.

Be careful out there.

Crap, very glad it was on the right side.

Did you bang your knee or anything?

Watch out for delayed reaction injuries.

Sorry to hear about it - the accident and the cold.

Oh man, I hope you're okay! Was it at 11 and Campbell? That intersection has been a disaster all week, and they really need to do something about it.

I would get checked out - injuries from something like that tend to wait a day or two to crop up.
