Athletic this week!
Softball practice again tonight. Also, I must run again, the last time before Saturday's race. I ran two miles last night. I felt okay. I think I'll do fine on Saturday.

I'm looking forward to it. I love the Race For The Cure. I love being a part of thousands of like-minded people, all there to support such a great cause. (Speaking of which, if anybody would like to donate a few dollars towards breast cancer research, just let me know; I'm collecting donations.) I love working towards a goal, and I love reaching the finish line and knowing that I've achieved something difficult for me.

The only problem is: I don't really like running. I like the idea of running. I know it's good for me, and I love how I feel when I finish running. But I don't much like the actual running at all.

Still, there's no way to get the good feeling afterwards without doing the deed. I know I'll feel awesome and proud when I'm done, so I'll just have to get my butt out there and run!!!

Here are my athletic endevors this past week:

sat - run 1 mile, walk 3.5 miles, skate almost an hour
sun - run over 1 mile
mon -
tue - softball pracice, 1 hour ballet
wed - run over 2 miles
thr - softball pracice, 35 mins running/walking (planned)
fri -
sat - Race Day! 3.1 mile run.

Current Mood: sore sore

You've got a busy week of workout there!

Use Friday for relaxaton! =)

even your Java dude is athletic

Oh, man, Rennie, I envy you! I can practically feel my endorphins when I read your post. (And I'm with you on the running. I don't like it either, but I used to do it anyway because I liked how I felt when I was through. Plus, it really is such an excellent workout.)

I took ballet classes in college and really liked the workout. I felt taller after each class. ;)o

Re: even your Java dude is athletic

Yeah, I found some new pictures of him - aren't they great?

I feel sore today, but good even so. I love feeling so active, and that endorphin rush when I'm done. Makes me feel better about the hours I spend sitting in front of a computer, too. And doing it for such a great cause feels even better.

"..felt taller after each class." That's an apt way to describe it, very true. I also feel a little more graceful, watching myself in the mirror, than when I started the class.

Hope your back gets better quickly so you can join me in my athleticism.

Good to hear you're running again this year; it's for a great cause. I'm too swamped (and un-athletic) to try to run it myself, but I'd be happy to sponsor you. :-)

oooh! I did the Race last year. it was very cool. My aunt just had a mastectomy, actually. (scary, but she's doing fine) I wasn't able to do it this year. . . I can't remember why not, but it was a good reason. Otherwise I would have done it again. Except that we didn't run, we walked ;) I don't like to run either--and I don't. lol. I love to walk though.

The walk is fun too. I've done that twice, and the run twice. I like trying to run, because it is after all a "race" for the cure. But the most important part is the "cure" part after all, so just being there is great. I love the feeling of being there for a common cause, with thousands of other people.

Glad to hear your aunt is doing well. Yes, very scary.

yeah, same here. I'm definitely not a runner, but I was glad to do my part. And it was a nice day, and I like Central Park. I hope I'll be able to do it again.
