I used to get lost in A2 all the time, until I learned to think of it as a spider. Downtown is the body, and it is arranged in a nice grid pattern. However, there are these weird legs heading out of town, often at odd angles. Once I viewed the roads into downtown (Plymouth Road, Washtenaw Ave, Packard, State, Main/A2-Saline, Liberty, Huron/Jackson/Dexter, Miller) as spider legs, it all worked out. I just have to work out which leg someone lives by, and I'm fine. (Some of the neighborhoods, particularly Kerrytown and the medical campus, still cause me problems, but it's okay.)

Congratulations on getting the train ticket, and have fun in Chicago!
