the story of an invisible girl
Today is almost my last week of work (at my current job). It's my last full week, but I'll be working on monday next week as well. I like to finish what I started, and on sunday we have a release going into production.

Obviously I should be hurrying off to work now, but instead I'm sitting here feeling philosophical. I'll start with the hurrying in a couple of minutes.

Tomorrow is my LAST trip to Cleveland for this company! I'm looking forward to it in a bizarre way. Not the drive, but the opportunity to see everyone I've worked with there and say goodbye. Eleven years is a long time, and I have some friends who I will miss.

I will probably make a voice post or two if the drive gets too long or too blurry. Especially since I'll be leaving around 5am. Is there anything that anybody would like to hear? Make your requests now! Otherwise I'll just babble about whatever comes into my head, like usual....

This week is also my last week for my current class (software engineering). It's been a good class, and hopefully the final won't be too rough -- I expect not, though it looks large.

I am planning on taking at a minimum one term off in January, in order to devote myself properly to the overwhelmingness of learning my new job. Sad to put off the school for a bit, but not drowning at work and doing a good job are both vital. I'll be back right quick though, once I'm settled. Some people skip work for school, or some skip school for work. The bold skip neither, as I've done up to now, but sometimes that's not easy.

Okay, now the hurrying to work will commence.

[Edit: On thinking it over, I might drive down tonight instead of tomorrow morning. But I'll still probably be (carefully!) messing around with phone posts.]

Isn't it time for a Christmas song? Of course you will be hard pressed to top the Hippopotamus song!

Maybe try making up a Christmas song based on scenery?

Since it's X-Mass time, talk about your favorite X-Mass of the past.

Trase! When you're down there, try to hit "The Velvet Tango Room" for an after work drink!

Christmas songs and some free verse on the topic of your choice while you drive I80 to Cleveland in a caffeinated haze, your eyes hypnotized by the passing dotted white line, while your peer ahead at the line of red ruby tail lights, searching for the towers of Cleveland rising in the East like giants reading to face battle with the elements of the oncoming winter ...

Something like that anyway. (;
