X Marks the Spot
Had a great evening last night climbing with DG. The oly disappointment was that the gym apparently had taken down several of their easier climbs for a competition last week. This meant I had fewer routes that I could comfortably climb, but I still found several places to be challenged yet successful.

It was fun! I banged up my knee a bit, so it now sports a nice purple 'X' marking the spot I tended to hit it. Not a problem though: it'd be a shame to walk away from the gym with *no* evidence I'd been there!

Happily no flesh was pinched this time, which is excellent. I wore a tight sports tank, which helped I think.

At one point D was right near the ceiling and fell during an attempted lunge at quite an angle. He swung with such speed that catching him picked me up about six feet into the air! Startling, but actually quite fun. The good thing about the belay equipment is that even when we were both swinging in the air, it was easy to hold him. It doesn't take strength, just the presence of mind to put the rope in the right place and not to let go.

My Internet Cold is still bothering me. I had mostly lost my voice by the end of the night last night. Fortunately it's not holding me back from doing stuff... Just making me feel kinda icky while doing them.

Going to Chicago tonight to spend Easter with my family. Yay!

I think I got your gym bruises last time. I had 3 mysterious bruises on my knee.

You're wearing your bicycle socks too. Happy Good Friday.

I've got my own share of bruises and scrapes, too. Actually, my knees are almost continually in a state of recovering from scraped skin/bruises nowadays. Given that I climb 2-3 times a week, I guess that isn't too surprising.
