Weekend Trip
M and I are in Milwaukee visiting my sis for the weekend. So far we've gone for a walk on the Oak Leaf trail, drank Milwaukee ale, seen WAY too many REALLY LOUD harleys (they are having their 105th anniversary party here this weekend), and had a couple of yummy meals. We've also hung out with the cats and one another, not very exciting, but it's been quite lovely.

Today we are going to the zoo. Tomorrow, Chicago for more family fun.

In other news, my egg seems to have grown up to be a little dragon. The website congratulates me on all my hard work, which isn't really true. In fact I forgot all about having an egg until I saw Shay's post about hers.

Well, my cron script is still visiting your dragon regularly.

Yep. I think that it's probably done, now that the dragon is grown.

The site is certainly an interesting way to drive ad revenue. I wonder, though, if the clicks are still effective from those of us who block ads and/or cookies, or who use "unusual" techniques to fetch the page.

I never saw any ads even when I went there with FF. The cron script certainly didn't either.

Neither did I, but I presume that's because AdBlock stopped them; I can see that it's blocking attempts to load images from a 'bannerad' directory, and a 'show_ads.js' script. My thought is that if I were designing such a site (with the intent of it being supported by ad revenue), I'd make sure that only clicks that loaded ads would count toward hatching/growing the critter.

Hey! Welcome to Milwaukee! I walk on Oak Leaf trail during my lunch hour most days. :)

I have free admission to the zoo. I should run over there and try to find you. *L*

Thank ya! Were you there? I didn't see you! Saw some nice animals though... (: It was a perfect afternoon for a stroll through the zoo.

I'll be coming back tomorrow night, and I'll be here until wednesday afternoon. So I was wondering: would you have any interest/time to meet me and my sister tuesday after work? Perhaps for a coffee, drink, or even a dinner? If so, email me at my lj name dot livejournal dot com.

I'd love to meet you, and she needs to meet more people in this area!

Seems Bruce Springsteen was in town ending his world tour, no wonder it was noisy.
