Hockey Parade
Driving to work this morning, I was listening to the radio DJs talking about the Red Wings parade, scheduled to occur in downtown Detroit today. Apparently all the players were supposed to ride on the back of convertibles with the tops down, but it's very windy and rainy downtown, so they were wondering if a change would be made.

"It's okay, they're hockey players, they can take it."

"Yeah, but what about the vehicles? There are going to be a whole bunch of damaged convertibles hitting the market after the parade."

"True, they'll all smell like wet dog."

No, much worse, I said to myself.....they'll smell like wet hockey player.

Saw some photos of the celebration, looks like it didn't rain on their parade, a few dark clouds overhead in a few shots, but mostly, looked sunny. Article said they estimated 1.2 million attended (My comment: 21% of the population of the area; 2000 Census say's Detroit, Ann Arbor Flint CMSA is 5.45 million).

Re: Parare

Wow...21% is a lot of people! Glad it didn't rain after all.
