Last Day of the Project
(goodbye email I sent to my team this morning)

I have had a wonderful time this year working on Diamond. The project was challenging, I learned a lot, and I enjoyed my opportunities to contribute and make it even better. Naturally I am disappointed with its outcome, but you know what? That's not my main regret.

My main regret is that I did not start earlier so that I could have enjoyed the ride longer. This is a great team. Each individual is clever and brings their own brains and personality, but when combined together Diamond created something that was greater than the sum of its parts.

I am honored to have been a part of it, and I've had a blast this year. Getting to know all of you folks has been a delight, whether pairing across the ocean, margaritas in Lebanon, beer in Gent, countless whiteboard sessions, or just sitting around in a restaurant wondering if we'll ever see our wait-person again.

Best wishes to all of you -- wherever we end up, I'm sure we'll do amazing things there. I look forward to hearing from you again! Keep in touch, either on LinkedIn or with the contact info below.

Shine on you crazy diamonds!
