Weekend - cellophane — LiveJournal
the story of an invisible girl
So tired! It was a good weekend, but tiring -- driving to and from Chicago with less than 36 hours inbetween is a lot. At least it's better than doing less than 24 hours. I've done that before, but it's just not fun at that point.

I spent sunday afternoon at M's house, then drove straight to work this morning, then I followed the whole thing up with an unplanned 10 hour work day, which definitely did not help. Today was a pretty grumpy day.

However, seeing my family was great, seeing M was even greater, and watching Tilly's ballet class was so cute, and so fun! All those three- and four-year-olds in pink tutus. Adorable. Tilly was one of the littlest ones there, but she was grinning like crazy. Unfortunately I forgot to bring my real camera, so all I have are some phone pics.

wow, from happy squirming bundle (in your userpic) to happy tiny dancer in a tutu. Cute.

I know, crazy! She's still a happy squirming bundle though, just a bigger one. (:

VERY cute. Do they learn proper ballet/dance basics at that age, or is it just skipping around waving arms in time to music?

My two both did 'baby ballet', starting at 3 years old, and they LOVED it. No sugar-pink leotards for them, though - they had deep royal blue, and VERY short skirts so that the teacher could see how well they were turning out their little chubby legs from the hip.

My dancer daughter is learning how to be a dance teacher for kiddies... could be scary!

It was a little bit of both. The teacher seems very good. She did a variety of games which disguised some dance essentials, and some skipping/frolicking to music. She didn't use a lot of ballet terms, but sneaked a few in there!
