What to do this weekend?
Last weekend my sister visited, and she and I and M all went for a 40 mile bike ride. We did an old classic, the Blue Water Ramble. Due to the threatening weather, we didn't go into Canada, but it was still a great ride. It was my first official Team Alpaca ride I attended all year! (no Tour de Troit this year for me, alas) Kinda sad, seeing as how it's fall now....

Now I'm torn as to what to do this weekend. M and Sis have both left town. I'd like to ride again. There are two interesting-looking bike rides saturday, one in Brighton (Tour Livingston) and one in Warren (Breast Cancer Ride). I sent out a few emails, but I haven't found anybody else interested in riding this weekend yet. I'm leaning toward the Warren one, since it's closer to home and for a good cause.

Anybody interested in doing some Team Alpaca riding? You don't have to be a current memeber; anybody who rides a bike with me is automatically a Team Alpacian. I know there's a con going on that weekend too. I might swing by. Anybody I know going to be at the con?

Are you set up for dirt road / gravel road / rail trail riding as well, or just paved stuff? I may have time to do stuff this weekend, and have been thinking about heading out from Rochester towards Imlay City, although I'm not sure for how far the Polyann Trail is passable.

hah! how funny! i was typing my reply and yours was here. if you do end up doing the Polly Ann, I will be in IC through Sunday - it ends just past my sister's street. i'll have the family truckster minivan if you need a rescue, too.

I have a hybrid that can do dirt surfaces, but not rugged trails. I guess I tend to prefer pavement.

I'm thinking of riding from Rochester (or maybe my house; about 9 miles from Rochester) up to Addison Oaks tomorrow. There's a mountain bike race there and while I'm not participating, I'm likely going to be hanging out with people. It's a mix of pavement, dirt/gravel roads (with some washboarding in places), and crushed limestone, if you're interested. I just won't know for sure if I'm going or not until I see how Danielle is doing.

i can't this weekend due to other commitments here in town, but sometime soon (before the snow flies!) i'd like to talk bikes with you - i promised myself i'd get one 2 or 3 years ago and never did it. i have talked a little bit about 'em with c0nsumer, but i'd like to get your input, too.

ps: got the postcard! thank you! <3

Anybody I know going to be at the con?

I'll be there. Two GT-ers are GoHs this year, so a lot of us will probably show up.

That looks like it was a fun ride, and I miss you and Lynn too! I'll be at clave off and on this weekend, but I'd love to fit one more ride in here somewhere...maybe we can make our own ride?

Yes, I was thinking about trying to put together some sort of cider mill ride! Let's put our heads together and make it happen.

It's rainy and cold; you should come to the con. I'll be there, as will Jebra and a ton of other GTers. Including Bill & Barry for a *real* Bill & Barry show!
