Books in 2010 and 2011

When we last left our book-reading hero, it was December of 2009 and she felt bad about not having posted much about her books that year. However she did way better than 2010, when she did not post a single book entry....

...of course that's partly because I didn't really read very much in 2010! I took two computer science classes, so I read 2 or 3 books for that. I read Tigana by Guy Gavriel Kay, but it took me most of the year. I know I read the three "The Girl Who..." books. I read a lot of wedding-planning magazines and blogs, but that doesn't really count. I'm sure there were a few more books in there... but there weren't many. It was a very distracted year.

Pretty sad! Fortunately it's a new year, so I can start over. Also now that I'm married, I'll have a little bit more time for reading and other such pleasures. I'm still working and taking a class, but at least I'm not planning a wedding or honeymoon anymore.

Let's see if I can remember what I've read so far....

4. Playing For Pizza, by John Grisham (audio book). It was all right. It was about an American football player in Italy, which was an interesting background, and I kept waiting for the plot to happen. Turns out that was the only plot.

3. A Game of Thrones, by George R.R. Martin -- very fun read. There is an HBO mini-series coming out soon on this series, and several people I know are looking forward to it, so M bought me the first book to see if I'd like it. I did, and now I'm working on book two! I'm also excited for the show. Winter is coming.

2. The Almost Moon, by Alice Sebold -- a very sad book. Interesting, well-written, but disturbing.

1. Tigana by Guy Gavriel Kay -- I claimed to have read it in 2010, but in truth I didn't finish it until my honeymoon in Feb of 2011. So I'm taking credit for it in both years.
