Today I'm not hurting as much (although that could be because I took some advil this morning). However a gland on the right side of my neck has become somewhat swollen, and I do still feel some pain and general unpleasantness.
It's all very weird. If I'm sick, it's a very localized sickness. Just the right-lower-side of my head. I feel okay otherwise: I can breath fine through my nose, and I don't think I have a fever.
My little brother used to get ear infections all the time when he was a kid. He'd wake up in the night and call out, "Mom, my ear hurts!", and the next day they'd be off to the pediatrician for antibiotics. Me, on the other hand, I don't recall ever getting an ear infection, so I'm not really sure what it's like. I wonder if that's what this is? Or am I just being overly paranoid, because he got them so often?
It's mysterious, whatever it is, and I hope it goes away soon. I feel like perhaps I ought to go see a doctor, because bro' always needed antibiotics before his ear infections would go away. But since I don't even know what this is, and I only just got it, I'd feel silly rushing off to see a doctor! ("um, yeah, my ear has been hurting a bit for a couple days. No, I feel fine otherwise. Advil makes it feel better, but well, I guess I'm just a hypochondriac...") I avoid the doctor generally, because I positively hate visiting her and finding out that I don't have a treatable disease....but sometimes it's so hard to figure out what she can treat!
hmmm....I feel a heck of a lot worse now that the advil has worn off! Yuck. Better go take some more....
